Tail-O

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 12 September 2026

Tail-O Petcare & Technologies LLP ("Tail-O", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide when using the Tail-O mobile application, website, QR-based pet identification services, and related services.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Tail-O collects, uses, stores, and shares information in connection with the Tail-O mobile application and the Tail-O website at tail-o.app.

Tail-O is designed for pet parents and supports dogs and cats, including pet profiles, health records and reminders, walk tracking, rewards, shopping, and QR-based lost-and-found identification.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: such as your name, mobile number, email address, login credentials, and other information required to create and manage your Tail-O account.
  • Pet information: such as your pet's name, species, breed, age or date of birth, gender, photographs, identification information, and other information you choose to add to the pet profile.
  • Health information: vaccination records, medication information, reminder schedules, and other pet-health information that you voluntarily enter into Tail-O.
  • Walk information: including walk duration, distance, route, and location information associated with a walk when you use the walk-tracking feature.
  • Transaction information: information associated with purchases made through Tail-O, including order details, delivery information, and transaction status. Payment credentials may be processed by third-party payment providers rather than stored directly by Tail-O.
  • Rewards information: including reward points earned, redeemed, or otherwise associated with your Tail-O account.
  • Device and technical information: such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, browser information, diagnostic information, and technical logs where required for operating and securing the service.
  • Location information: where required for features such as walk tracking or when you voluntarily provide a location through a lost-and-found interaction.

3. QR Lost & Found

The Tail-O QR collar is designed to help reunite lost pets with their owners. A person who finds a pet can scan the QR code associated with the pet.

The QR lost-and-found feature is intentionally designed so that a finder does not need to create a Tail-O account or log in simply to report a found pet.

Depending on the information made available by the pet owner, scanning the QR code may allow the finder to initiate contact with the owner and/or report the location where the pet was found.

Tail-O is designed to facilitate contact without unnecessarily exposing the owner's personal information. Where technically available, communication may be mediated through Tail-O rather than displaying the owner's underlying account information.

Pet parents should therefore review the information associated with their pet's public QR profile and avoid entering unnecessary sensitive or personal information.

4. Pet Health Information

Tail-O allows pet parents to record information such as vaccination and medication schedules and receive automated reminders.

This information is provided by you and is intended to help you organise your pet's care. Tail-O does not independently verify the accuracy or completeness of information entered by users.

Tail-O is not a veterinary service and information stored in the application should not be treated as veterinary diagnosis or professional medical advice.

5. Location & Walk Tracking

If you use Tail-O's walk-tracking feature, the application may collect location information from your device to calculate and display the route, distance, duration, and location of a pet walk.

Location permissions are controlled through your device settings. You may disable location access, although doing so may prevent certain location-dependent features from working correctly.

You should only enable location services when you are comfortable sharing location information for the relevant Tail-O feature.

6. Rewards

Tail-O may provide reward points based on qualifying activities within the application.

We may maintain information about points earned, adjusted, redeemed, expired, or otherwise associated with your account in order to operate the rewards system and prevent misuse.

7. Shopping

Tail-O may allow you to purchase pet food and other products for your pet.

To process an order, we may collect information such as delivery address, contact information, order details, and transaction status.

Payment processing may be performed by third-party payment service providers. Such providers may process payment information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable requirements.

8. How We Use Information

We may use information for purposes including:

  • creating and managing user and pet profiles;
  • providing Tail-O's pet-care features;
  • maintaining vaccination and medication reminders;
  • providing walk-tracking functionality;

9. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product.

We may share information where reasonably necessary to provide Tail-O's services, including with:

  • technology, hosting, cloud, analytics, communication, and infrastructure service providers;
  • payment processors and shopping or delivery partners where required to fulfil an order;
  • service providers supporting the QR lost-and-found functionality;
  • professional advisers, auditors, or legal representatives where reasonably required;
  • government, regulatory, law-enforcement, or other authorised authorities where legally required.

Third-party service providers are expected to process information only for appropriate business purposes and in accordance with applicable contractual and legal requirements.

10. Finder Interactions

A person who finds a pet carrying a Tail-O QR collar may scan the QR code without registering for a Tail-O account.

The finder may be asked to provide information such as a contact method or the location where the pet was found. This information is used to facilitate the lost-and-found interaction.

A finder should not submit unnecessary personal, sensitive, or confidential information through the QR reporting process.

Tail-O cannot guarantee that a finder or pet owner will respond to communications or that a lost pet will be recovered.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant services, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, and protect our legitimate interests.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.

When information is no longer required for a legitimate purpose, we may delete, anonymise, or securely dispose of it, subject to applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.

However, no internet-based service, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to access, correction, updating, deletion, withdrawal of consent where applicable, and raising a grievance.

You may also control certain permissions, including location access, through your device settings.

14. Third-Party Services

Tail-O may use third-party services for functions such as hosting, analytics, authentication, messaging, payments, maps/location services, delivery, and other infrastructure.

These third parties may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage users to review the privacy practices of third-party services when appropriate.

15. Children's Privacy

Tail-O is intended for use by pet parents and is not directed specifically at children.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children in circumstances where such collection is prohibited by applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us improperly, please contact us so that we can review and take appropriate action.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Tail-O's services, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

When we make material changes, we may provide an appropriate notice through the website, application, or other reasonable means.

The effective date shown at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when the current version became effective.
